When Adam decided to chose the one thing God told him not to, he forfeited his spiritual relationship with God and eventually his physical life. To save us spiritually is why Jesus died. The penalty for Adam was separation from God and that is the definition of the word sin. Jesus paid the price for us, so we don’t have to die and eternally live separated from God. He died in our place. Now, if we give our lives to Jesus, God sees his perfection and not our imperfections. That allows us to spend eternity with God. Keep asking the probing questions and you’ll find the answers. It took me a long time to make my decision, but I’m glad I did. I didn’t lose anything that amounted to anything and I gained a lot.
